You will be back to the main screen. Click the first button to connect to the IRC server. End of /MOTD command. Fangz sets usermode for Fangz to: +i ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are a few simple commands that you need to know and a few simple rules. Channels begin with a # Commands begin with a / Text to a window is just typed. To join a channel OR to create one, you use the join command. /join #lwc If it exists, you will be added as a channel member. If it doesn't exist, you'll create it and others may join. The one who creates a room is automatically the room operator or "op" The op controls the room through the mode command. Leave that one for later. To leave the channel you are talking in, use /part To quit IRC use /quit A NOTE: Should you be the first one to make a channel, you will be the channel op. If you are there for a #lwc conference, when someone comes in that knows how to use the mode command you need to make them an operator. This is done like so: /mode #lwc +o fangz The main purpose of a OP is to keep trouble makers in line. This is done by banning and kicking them from the channel. Normally, this is not a problem, but if it is, it's nice to know the commands to use. |
